MDPC-X doesn’t do anything half way. It’s for that reason we love their heatshrink just as much as their cable sleeving offerings. MDPC-X heatshrink is fantastic choice when looking for a high quality product boasting a phenomenal 3.4.1 shrink ratio. This feature alone allows us to to get the shrink over even the widest connectors (USB-A and aviators included) without any over expansion. The walls of this heatshrink are extremely thin giving your custom mechanical keyboard cable a very polished and seamless look. No glue on the internal wall makes for very clearn applications and extremely results (even after shrinking).

This no compromise heatshrink has the following technical properties (as stated on MDPC-X’s website):

  • At ~95°C the heatshrink will start to shrink.

  • The heatshrink tubing can be exposed 24/7 to temperatures of up to 160°C.

  • Without melting or breaking effects, extreme temperatures of 240°C can be applied to the heatshrinks for a couple of hours.

  • Very high melting-point of the heatshrink allows for a controlled melting of cable sleeving underneath the heatshrink tubing. MDPC-X cable sleeves begin to melt at more than 250°C. (see the quick guide to heatshrink-less sleeving below this list)

  • Copper in combination with our heatshrinks will not result in corrosion effects.

  • Water in contact with our heatshrink is not a problem because of the low ~0.25% water absorption property.

  • 20KV per mm dielectric strength make our heatshrink tubing a high class protective solution.

  • Oils, chemicals or cleaning agents have no structural effect on our heatshrink.

Shrinkflex

When it comes to custom usb cables, Techflex has got some of the best game around. It’s no surprise then that we love their heatshrink just as much as we love their Flexo-PET sleeving. Available in a wide array of shrink ratios, Shrinkflex is a fantastic option especially considering the additional color offerings that are available (see link above).

Techflex describes their heatshrink as (taken from the Techflex website):
